Bite-sized animation from Green Meadows Beef

While the meat’s not for export, we thought you might enjoy this cute two minute animation from South Taranaki’s family-owned Green Meadows Beef, taking viewers on the entire paddock to plate journey.

Nick Carey, Green Meadows beef director, hopes the animation will increase awareness of what true paddock to plate eating really is, as well as driving consumer demand for the company’s grass-fed, ethically raised Angus Beef.

“We wanted to tell our story in a fun, colourful way that helps New Zealanders understand what we’re all about and how our beef reaches their table,” says Carey. “As well as being informative, the feel of the video really fits in with the Green Meadows Beef personality. It’s down to earth, a little bit humorous and quirky and totally focused on ensuring our customers have access to the best quality beef possible, as well as great service from us.

The animation was produced by New Plymouth design company Frontroom.

The Carey family founded Green Meadows Beef after realising that the best New Zealand beef is exported and is rarely made available to the local market. All animals are reared ethically, fed their natural diet and allowed to roam freely, the company says.

Aside from buying online at, Green Meadows Beef can now be purchased through gourmet food stores, Farro Fresh in Auckland, Moore Wilson in Wellington, the Farm Shop in Hamilton and Fresha in New Plymouth with more retail partners to be announced soon.
