China FTA starting to yield dividends, says economist

Westpac chief economist Dominick Stephens suspects that the current “reasonable” prices for lamb and “stratospheric” prices for dairy are New Zealand specific, rather than the worldwide global  drivers for meat prices in 2007/2008 . He’s starting to suspect that the free trade agreement signed with China – now the number one destination for New Zealand exports –  is “really starting to yield dividends for New Zealand’s main export sectors”.
