Darren Wright was named recipient of one of the highest culinary honours within the meat industry at last night’s Ambassador Series dinner hosted at his Christchurch restaurant, Chillingworth Road.
After being named an Ambassador Chef for Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ Inc) four times, Darren has earned the prestigious title of Platinum Ambassador alongside only five other top Kiwi chefs.
Darren says achieving Platinum Ambassador status is a milestone in his career as a chef.
“Being a Beef + Lamb Ambassador chef has provided me with a multitude of opportunities, not to mention support.
“I am very proud and privileged to be a Platinum Ambassador and associated with a product that is the best in the world,” says Darren.
Darren joins five other Platinum Ambassadors in this exclusive league; Stephen Barry; Michael Coughlin; Brenton Low; Mat McLean and Rex Morgan.
Through annual assessment, restaurants which present outstanding beef and lamb cuisine are deemed Excellence Award holders with a select five chefs going forward to be named Ambassador Chefs for Beef + Lamb New Zealand each year.
Due to his high level of skill and passion for the craft, Darren Wright was named a B+LNZ Ambassador Chef in 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2014, now achieving a lifetime status of Platinum Ambassador.
