Deer Industry News: Bumper conference issue out now

A bumper conference issue of Deer Industry News has just appeared in post boxes around the country and shows plenty of activity in the New Zealand venison sphere.

The venison update shows that while New Zealand venison exports were down by 1.9 percent for the year ending April 2016, the value of the exports rose by 9.7 percent to $188 million and the average FOB sales price per kg increased by 13.6 percent over the past 12 months.

The highlights the deer industry’s latest export marketing activity covered at conference, with an article on Deer Industry NZ’s venison marketing manager Marianne Wilson’s presentation talking about the latest Passion2Profit (P2P) marketing activities in the Benelux countries, Ben Veldkamp of Dutch foodservice calling for competitors to help grow the summer market for venison in his region, how New Zealand venison is following the value chain in the US and how venison exporters are broadening their horizons.
