Planning is well underway for AgResearch’s annual Meat Industry Workshop.
Three sessions this year focus on the overall theme of ‘Meating the Future’ and will look at future technologies, food safety and provenance and future research opportunities. They are have been designed by the organising committee, led by senior meat scientist and convenor Dr Mustafa Farouk, to explore the opportunities for industry to engage with current and future meat research programmes. Panel discussions will follow each session, where attendees will be actively encouraged to contribute to the discussion forum.
A highlight of this year’s workshop will be the acknowledgement of service to the New Zealand meat industry by Grant Pearson of Silver Fern Farms and Pete Dobbie of AgResearch. Both have contributed significantly to meat research in a number of ways over many years.
The day will close with the popular early evening barbecue.
The AgResearch Meat Industry Workshop will take place on Wednesday 18 March 2015 at the McMeekan Centre, AgResearch Ruakura Campus in Hamilton. For more information see http://www.agresearch.co.nz/news/agresearch-meat-industry-workshop-2015/.
The Meat Industry Association meat industry research workshop will be held at the same venue the following day.
