In his latest blog post, Keith Woodford reports back on a recent visit to China. He says in recent visits that he has learned that the people are “hardwired to focus on survival” and that the rapid decline of the Chinese share market does not in itself spell gloom.. For New Zealand exporters, his big message is about recognising the diversity of the country and acting accordingly. He splits the country into two: the eastern seaboard and the west, where he believes there are opportunitiesin cities like Xi’an, Kunming and Chengdu.
