Auckland-based Milmeq, which delivers specialist capital plant equipment to the New Zealand meat industry and primary food processing operations around the world, won the Innovation in Excellence Business Award, sponsored by AJ Park, in this year’s New Zealand International Business Awards.
The awards run by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise and strategic partner ANZ celebrate New Zealand businesses that achieving international success.
The Excellence in Innovation Award honours businesses that are developing and commercialising innovation in international markets and incorporating intellectual property strategy, processes and monitoring.
The standard of entries this year was extremely high, which made Milmeq’s entry all the more remarkable, the judges commented.
“Milmeq has achieved substantial international growth by deeply embedding innovation processes across its approach to food processing, material handling and freezing. A strong focus on health and safety and intellectual property management were additional highpoints.”
